"Hi Santa Claus, I'm 17 years old. Of course, I don't believe that you exist at all, but maybe I'm wrong. Help me grow up, and I'll believe that you really exist...". With these lines began a letter that I was shown by an acquaintance, the owner of a toy store. This New Year they traditionally set up a letter box for…
Sashenka Valuyev's First Victory
Anastasia Valueva was introduced to the scary word leukemia in the fall of 2019, when her son Sashenka was diagnosed with cancer when he was suspected of having anemia. In that moment, it was as if the ground had slipped from under the feet of the little loving family. Cancer, cancer, a deadly disease... And happiness was instantly replaced by a huge tragedy.
And everything was supposed to be different! Sashenka was born absolutely healthy and strong baby. A real bogatyr - daddy always talked about him. And mom was glad, that even frequent children's colds Sascha was able to pass even in a couple of days. Anastasia was leaving the children's oncologist's office in tears, looking at the huge sign on the door "Department of Oncohematology for Children".
Sashenka and his mother spent almost a year in the oncology ward. Sasha bravely overcame everything: painful punctures, during which he boldly said, "I am strong!", daily drips and frequent blood transfusions. The baby fought steadfastly for his life. And the cancer receded. When our volunteers came into Sasha's room, the boy was smiling joyfully and shared all of his happy, and sometimes tragic, news. Our good-natured boy - that's how we nicknamed this little man.
And our Sashenka was loved not only by all hospital personnel, but also by little patients who tearfully asked him not to leave the ward. On Sashenka's discharge there were pleasant congratulations and good wishes, and Sashenka proudly carried home his first letters patent in his life... A diploma of victory!
