I was very sad about the results: Karimchi is scheduled for a bone marrow transplant, but there is a waiting list of 18 months... We don't have that much time... In our case, time is our enemy... It's recommended that we do an HLA typing. In other words, to determine the compatibility of the potential donor with the child. In our case, I as a donor will not be a match, nor will Karim's sister (as the genetic test showed that the heredity comes from a female line). That leaves only Karim's father... And only after that can we look for a clinic that will be able to perform TKM as soon as possible... I'm afraid to think about what we'll do if the father doesn't match... The search for a donor who isn't a relative and the transplant itself - that's a lot of money... God help us... All the time before the transplantation, Karimchik needs to be stabilized - without strong immunostimulants, our platelets are dropping to almost zero, and our immune system with them... Any infection or virus can be fatal for my son...

In addition to HLA typing, Karim is on weekly injections of two powerful immunomodulatory drugs, Octagam and Enplate, prior to HSCT. Karim's family will have to bear the cost of the tests and treatment, which they cannot afford...
