This is how the youngest cancer patients at the beginning of treatment sometimes react even to us - the volunteers... We see the children's eyes running and frightened, the desire to hide and forget forever about the terrible disease... Forget about the punctures, chemotherapy and the walls of the room, which replaced their home... To forget,…
Lyosha is only three years old. He loves bright cars and colored pencils, blue clothes and coloring books with puppies. The little boy dreams of an endless supply of chocolates and a trip to the sea. He also really wants to never be hurt again. Lyosha has cancer.
Next to the children's toys in his room there are medications and leaves with incomprehensible numbers in the tests. Because of his age, Lyosha does not understand what cancer and tumors are, but every day, with tears in his eyes, the baby is in pain, begging his mother to go home from the hospital.
Cancer burst into the baby's life abruptly! The feeling of ill health and abdominal pain seemed to be symptoms of simple poisoning. A visit to the pediatrician turned the family's life upside down: they sent him to the oncology department for an examination. They hospitalized him with a preliminary diagnosis - nephroblastoma. The results of the examinations shocked his mother: they found a tumor of enormous size in his kidney, which was sent for histological analysis to the Dmitry Rogachev Scientific and Research Center of Gastrointestinal Diagnostics. Unfortunately, the doctors' assumptions about kidney sarcoma were confirmed... Now Leshenka is being treated at the first surgery department of the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital and is being prepared for combined chemotherapy and radiation therapy. We believe that this little man will do well and come out the winner in the terrible fight with the disease!
Thanks to Elena's help, we paid for the histological study at the Dmitry Rogachev Scientific and Research Center for Gastrointestinal Disorders.
