At the moment a huge number of children deprived of parental care live temporarily or permanently in social institutions in the Donetsk People's Republic.
Our foundation's activity is focused on helping children from orphanages and boarding schools, those who have faced loneliness and betrayal, and someone even death - the war took away their parents from many of them... Under this program, the foundation team and volunteers implement a number of projects aimed at providing not only medical, but also psychological, social and educational assistance to orphans. We try to do everything we can so that these children can fully develop and, thanks to this, in the future to choose the right life guidelines and values. The goal of our team is for all the children who were once alone in their lives to feel loved and needed again.
But there are also those who have been betrayed twice - by fate and by the people closest to them. These are the children who were born different. Children who did not meet the expectations of their moms and dads. Children who, because of their peculiarities, ended up in an orphanage. Unwanted and uncomfortable children. Children with disabilities.
Helping disabled orphans is one of the most important activities of our foundation.
We are responsible for 20 orphans from the group of disabled children of the Specialized National Orphanage in Donetsk. Donetsk. These are 20 deformed little souls..... The stories and diagnoses of all of them are painfully similar - cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus, microcephaly, Down's syndrome, mental retardation. And all of them have the same sentence signed by the hand of the dearest and closest person in the world - their mom ... Looking at these babies, it's hard to get used to the idea that because of their features they are doomed to be alone ... Because there is no one who would protect them from suffering, fear and pain....
Who would surround them with the love that these children need BOTH! Besides attention and affection, these children also need special care, which our foundation provides.
We are giving our care to these special little children - we visit them in the wards of hospitals during the treatment, we help them to buy necessary medicines, specialized diet, individual care products, medical products and devices, in a word - we are trying to do our best to make the life of each little sick person at least a little bit painless and comfortable. We strive to ensure that all orphans with disabilities of the republic are entitled to timely, complete and highly qualified medical care at an early age, which would include early diagnosis, as well as the opportunity to receive advice from the best specialized clinics in the DNR and Russia with subsequent treatment and rehabilitation. And finally, our dream is to have a single republican database of orphans for placement of all children in a family with universal access for potential adoptive parents.
