The Tale of Golden-haired Zlatoslava
"It's in my tummy" - little Zlata points with her finger to where, according to her childish understanding, something that has been killing her for a month is lurking.
Neuroblastoma of the retroperitoneal space with metastases to the bone marrow. That is the name of the terrible monster that settled in the tiny body of four-year-old Zlatoslava.
A sad fairy tale about the golden-haired Zlata, in which the beautiful princess turned into a little skinny tortured man with huge sad eyes, and the little princess' curls crumbled after the first chemotherapy .
That's what cancer does to children... It emasculates, it affects, it envelops them with its tentacles until it delivers its final crushing blow...
Zlata spent two weeks in intensive care unit, where, after a cardiac arrest, doctors desperately fought for her life. At the first surgical department of the Russian Children's Hospital, Zlattoslava had to re-learn how to walk and talk - such were the complications of the intensive therapy.
"Is that for me?" asks Zlata almost in a whisper, taking the gifted doll in her hand. Immediately she lets it out of her hands - they are completely weak.
The nutritious food is the only food that she can eat. So, the weight gain of 900 grams for a week is an achievement for the little girl. And also she is not afraid of people in white coat and is waiting for the good fairies (volunteers from our foundation), who will visit her in her ward.
The treatment has just begun. Zlata has a long road to recovery ahead.
But we sincerely believe that thanks to caring people, the fairy tale about the golden-haired Zlata will have a happy ending, and cancer, as a terrible dragon, will be defeated!

Кажется, что скоро наше сердце не выдержит... А что чувствуют родители, мы и представить боимся... Наш маленький златовласый человечек, наша Златочка, ушла ко Господу!
Твои большие и искренние глазки навсегда останутся в нашей памяти, а твоя любовь будет согревать и поддерживать нас всегда! Мы искренне благодарим каждого, кто помогал малышке! Теперь мы можем только молиться о упокоении младенца Златы и тихо плакать от боли утраты...
