To this day, when he realizes that they are about to take blood or put an IV, he clings to me like a little hunted animal... To protect me, to save him from the coming pain... But I can't help him. All his pain I would take upon myself ... My heart is ripping into pieces ... How can I explain to a three-year-old baby that "pain" and "need" are now synonyms ... This helplessness is killing me ... But I grit my teeth and pull myself together. Vanya feels a hundred times worse than I do and I just have no right to be weak!
Vanya has already passed the first block of high-dose chemotherapy. May God make the rest as easy for him! Now of course we are waiting for the inevitable side effects... But we are ready! When my boy is asleep I read articles about our diagnosis. I read on one of the forums on the Internet that cancer destroys everything. Such a short, harsh, and loud phrase. But I don't agree with her! Cancer can't defeat parental love, faith in the best and human goodness! You can't beat the joy of every smile, even if it's so rare now, on my son's face and his quiet "I love you, Mommy!
