"The war has already practically ruined our lives. And now we have another battle - for the life of our granddaughter," cries the grandmother of thirteen-year-old Lisa Nasirova.
"So much grief fell on our family ... in 2015 shells destroyed our home ... I thank God that at that time there were no children in the house. Everything burned down.... We were left with nothing. No clothes, no shoes. How could I have ever thought that our family would become poor... For a few months, my grandchildren and I wandered around renting apartments. It was such a misery. A room in a dormitory was just a gift for us. The conditions for the children, of course, were terrible. But even that we were very happy. I breathed a sigh of relief, though I do not have to pay for housing. And then fate has struck us a new blow - Lisa was put this terrible diagnosis, myeloblastic leukemia. My God, what was that for? Our family had never had cancer, and now this. Lisa was so stressed when we were on the street, and now it turns out that not without a trace. Damn this war, it's all because of her....".
Unfortunately, Lisa's parents do not take an active part in their daughter's life... Lisa lives with her grandmother in Oncohematology Department.
Alina Anatolevna bitterly lowers her eyes: "This is my pain ... But my grandchildren - my life. I would do anything to save Lisa... I'm not ashamed to ask, I've had to do it so many times... I beg all concerned people, I believe there are many of them, help me cure my granddaughter from cancer!

"For a moment I thought hell was over... Who knew it was only ahead?" - Lisa Nasirova's grandmother utters this phrase with pain in her eyes. Looking at this fragile woman with tearful eyes, you instantly feel her pain. Back in 2015, the war made a difference in the life of this family: a shell destroyed the house where Alina Anatolievna lived with her two grandchildren. Five years later, fate struck again: granddaughter Lisa was diagnosed with cancer.

During a phone conversation with us Alina shared the latest news from hospital life of her granddaughter: "For a month we "live" in the department of oncohematology for children. During this time my granddaughter finished the first protocol and even started the second block of high dose chemotherapy. Imagine, only a month, and our old life was shattered into tiny pieces! Block I went through with great complications, the cancer struck a weak spot: my granddaughter's mucosa was burned, and the pain in her stomach did not stop. I can still hear my granddaughter's scream in my ears... a scream of pain and despair.... Lisa was eating through a tube... Sluggish and crying. I have never seen my granddaughter's eyes look so puffy!

Today the doctors told us the encouraging news. We received the results of our MRD from Moscow Rogachev Clinic. The results showed that Lisa's body is responding to the treatment and fighting the cancer!

On Saturday, Lisa wrote a letter to Santa Claus. So smiling, happy and in happy anticipation. Eyes up at me and whispered, "Grandma, I believe in miracles! Everything will be fine! Santa Claus will ask for a board game and health! You'll see, a miracle will happen!"... It will happen, my good one, with God's help and human support we'll make it!"

Grandma writes:
"Our hell has been going on for a month now. We are in the oncology department with the diagnosis "acute lymphoblastic leukemia". We have already got used to the ward... Lisa has made friends with other children from the ward. For today we have been through 2 blocks of high dose chemotherapy. The other blocks are just as hard ahead of us. All the chemotherapy Lisa needs will be high dose. Our attending physician has already warned us that the chemo medications will affect her body. Unfortunately, it cannot be avoided!

The chemo is not only fighting the cancer, but it is also giving complications to Lisa's body. At the beginning of treatment the complications in her granddaughter's body began with severe stomach pain, and continued with fungal infection, which manifested as bleeding sores in the mouth, so we had to start taking high-calorie formula feeding Nutrizon. Lisa refuses to eat normal food, it is painful for my little girl to chew and swallow...

I will never forget the look in Lisa's eyes when her hair began to fall out and instead of beautiful braids there was a kerchief on her granddaughter's head... Lisa wouldn't leave the room without it, she was too shy...

And recently volunteers came to us, showed us a video from the Lisa where Lisa studies. My little girl, not taking her eyes off, watched it, the support of teachers and classmates instilled in both of us faith in the best! And when my granddaughter and I went into the ward, Lisa cried. She admitted to me, that she misses school terribly! I wish this cancer would leave our family in peace.

Thank you for everything! Lisa and I are so thankful to you! We could not have done it without your help. May God bless you for supporting my little girl! She really wants to live!"
