"It started out innocuously enough with a sore throat. That's why I didn't even think to panic. So what, laryngitis. We'll be fine. My confidence was strengthened by the conclusions of pediatricians and infectious disease specialists. Even an increase in lymph nodes in Kira I was not alarmed - in children with viral and bacterial infections it is normal. In our medical language the clinical picture was clear to me - infectious mononucleosis. Of course, the infection was serious, but not lethal... The treatment was standard - antibiotics. I began to have doubts after a few days - when I began to understand that antibiotics did not help us at all... And one night I woke up because Kira was crying. My baby was crying from a sore throat. That is, her throat was hurting so badly that my little girl could not sleep. In the morning we rushed to the infectious disease department.In the blood test again were mononuclears, and with them unidentifiable blood cells ... With this test and we were sent to Donetsk oncohematology department.... Then everything was going on rapidly and terribly - puncture, a few days of waiting and finally the diagnosis - acute myeloblastic leukemia. The rarest and most severe type of blood cancer. Next step was emergency high dose chemotherapy - Kira was barely able to survive it.For several days my child was on the edge of life and death...No one gave a prognosis...But she made it.She survived this first round in the fight for her life.My strong little girl...But there was one more blow ahead of us - bone marrow transplantation was recommended by consilium of Moscow oncologists. This procedure is not available in Ukraine, only in Russia or abroad... And before transplantation we have to undergo several blocks of chemotherapy to achieve remission. The first and the most important thing for us is to find a donor for Kira. Typing (donor matching) is also done in Moscow. I'm so accustomed to putting everything in order ... But cancer is so unpredictable ... The worst thing is to realize that nothing depends on you, that you are powerless to face this monster ... That everything can change any minute ... There is fear and uncertainty ... So much more to go through for my little Kirovka. But my faith is strong! She will make it! With God's help!"

"I never thought that cancer would touch our family and that my only daughter's life would be in danger... I also never thought that I would have to ask for help. I also never thought that there were people who would care about someone else's child.
On December 31st Kira suddenly got sick and found out that she urgently needed an antitumor drug Rubida. The ground literally fell out from under me... I can't get this medicine in Donetsk, but only in the Russian Federation. And there are New Year's vacations ahead. The cost of "Rubida" is 90 000 rubles. The drug is urgently needed. Immediately. I was desperate. We had no idea how to collect such a sum in one day and how to bring the medicine from Moscow to Donetsk urgently. On New Year's Eve all we could do was pray for a miracle. It turned out that there is a man living in Belgium who suffers for the children of our long-suffering Donbass.
